About Us
Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky is a volunteer group dedicated to helping the communities in Lampasas County to reduce light pollution and preserve our Big and Bright Stars here in the Heart of Texas for future Generations.
Stars Up! Lights Down!
Volunteers meet every first Wednesday of the month at 10:30-11:45 in the Chamber of Commerce conference room. Please join us!
Both Lampasas County and the City of Lampasas have passed resolutions to encourage practices and support efforts to preserve our night skies. We enjoyed participating in the Harker Heights Outdoor and Science Expo last weekend. Met lots of nice folks in Bell County, many are interesting in forming their own Friends Group to protect their night skies. We shared our process and enthusiasm!
