Christmas Tree Contest Entry: A Storybook Christmas: Read On, Lampasas!
It’s that time of year again! Time to get ready for the Lampasas County Museum’s annual Christmas Tree and Gingerbread contests. This year’s theme is “A Storybook Christmas.” The theme suggests family traditions of favorite stories read, books given and treasured for a lifetime, and special characters that are cherished. Any of these interpretations – or another of your choosing – could be the focus of a tree or gingerbread house.
Let your imagination go and enter your tree at the museum on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 25), between 9 am and 3 pm or on Monday, November 27, between 4 and 7 pm. All participants must provide their own artificial tree and no glitter may be used. Trees will be judged by the public on Saturday, December 2, during the Carol of Lights and will remain on view at the museum through December 16. Trees must be picked up on Saturday, December 16, between 10 am and 4 pm or on Monday, December 18, between 4 pm and 7 pm.
For more information, call the museum at 512-556-2224 or Susan Detrick at 512-556-0033.
