SUMMARY:Family Star Party to Explore the Wonders of the Night Sky
DESCRIPTION:We will offer families and sky enthusiasts an opportunity to discover the beauty and wonder of the night sky. Astronomer Phil Ostroff will be joined by astronomer Michael Vanderhoff\, who will set up powerful telescopes and guide attendees in exploring celestial objects visible in the evening sky.\n\nParticipants can learn about constellations\, planets\, stars and other fascinating features of the night sky\, while experiencing firsthand the value of Lampasas County's dark skies. Visual telescopes\, smart scopes and binoculars are welcome for those who would like to bring their own equipment.\n\nGuests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair\, snacks and a sense of curiosity and plan to spend the evening stargazing and learning. To help preserve everyone's night vision\, please do not bring or use regular flashlights. Red-light flashlights designed for night-sky viewing are welcome.
